AC Tune-Up Before a Windsor Summer
Windsor's summers start early and run hot. A spring check means the AC is ready before the first heat wave.

Why spring matters
Contractors in Windsor-Essex get busy once the first heat wave arrives in late spring. A tune-up booked in April or early May gets you a convenient time and catches a weak capacitor or low refrigerant before you depend on the system every day.
Check the thermostat
Switch the thermostat to cool and lower the setting a few degrees. The outdoor fan and compressor should start within a few minutes, and the air from the vents should feel noticeably cooler.
Look at the lines
The larger copper line running to the indoor coil should feel cool and may sweat once the AC has run a while. Ice on it is a sign of a problem.
Mind the dryer vent
If a dryer vent blows lint toward the outdoor unit, redirect it. Lint clogs the coil quickly.
Plan for heat waves
If the AC struggled last summer, mention it during the tune-up. The technician can check sizing, airflow and ducts while there's still time before July.
